Medical

Hi!

I have been looking for my birthniece for several years. Not only do I want to find her because I love her and want to answer any questions she has, but there is a history of cancer in our family. How can I find out more info to contact her?

Thank you.

Thesearchguru is a search consultant that has helped several people on the forum. She has posted threads with helpful information for searching in each state as well as information on the best way to post in the forum - include DOB, sex, city/state in the title of the thread. You can contact her through her website http://www.therighttoknow.info

Are either of your niece's bparents still alive? How old is your niece? If you know the name of the agency that handled the adoption they might forward a letter with the updated medical information.

Good Luck!

Birthniece

Hi!
My sister is alive and as far as I know, so is the birthfather. My niece was born March 31, 1969 in Buffalo or Amherst, N.Y., so she would be 34. I don't have any info about the adoption agency.
Do you know what adoption agencies were in the Buffalo area in 1969?

Thank you.

No, I have no idea what adoption agencies were in the Buffalo area in 1969? The local library might be able to help you with old phone books etc.

Is your sister aware that you are trying to find her bdaughter? Your sister would obviously know the name of the agency that she used. I'm not sure the agency would even release information to anyone other than a bparent or an adoptee - even non identifying information. When I sent for my non id info, I had to send a copy of my driver's license to verify my date of birth.

Again, you might read the posts by thesearchguru for searching in New York as well as the best way to post information. If your sister is not aware of your search for her bdaughter, you might consider telling her about it. If you do find your bniece she would most likely be interested in her bmother.

Good Luck!

No, my sister does not know I am searching. Every time I try to talk about it, she changes the subject. I'm doing this on my own because I need for her to know that I love her and am here for her. I also want to know if she is happy and healthy. There is a history of cancer in my family, and I want her to be aware of it.
