I know this was discussed recently, but I can't find it!!! There are several parents here dealing with kids that have Hep C or MRSA, both of which have similiar ramifications... they might be able to answer some questions.

Thanks athikers! I have searched the forum too and can't find anyone - and other threads that have been started have gone unanswered.

I find it hard to believe that no one is parenting an HIV+ child/baby - is it because there is still such a stigma that no one wants to talk about it?

Strange - because in the West HIV is now considered a non-fatal disease and is manageable with drugs, etc.

I am just starting to think about this but would love to hear from others with personal experience...

Karyn - Here's the link to another thread that talks about it.

Is it a bad idea...?

There's not a lot of discussion but some. I am really hoping someone with experience will see your thread and offer some support. Best Wishes - Suz
