New Help More Than Ever For The Sake Of My 2 Daughters

Hi, My Names Scott, I Was Born In Emporia At Newman Hospital On August 17, 1971. My Birth Name Was Robert Hughes. My Mothers Name Was Betty Hughes. I Was Put In A Foster Home In Hartford. I Am Having A Really Hard Time Right Now Because 4 Years Ago I Was Diognosed With A Blood Disorder And Have Had Over 30 Blood Clots In My Legs And Lungs. Im Not So Worried About Me As I Am My Daughters. They Are Not Sure But They Think It Is Genetic. So My Search Is Even More Important. I Am On Disability For The Rest Of My Life. And Now All The Resentment Is Back After So Many Years And Tears. I Hate Feeling This Way, But Im Mad As Hell. And I Dont Know Who To Be Mad At. Well I Guess I Have Gone On Long Enough. If Anyone Can Help I Have A Message Phone At My Grandmothers.

Scott,
I belive you have a right to be concerned for your girls. I also, have this blood disorder. It is called Anti phospholipid Antibody Syndrome or Hughes Syndrome. I have had blood clots in legs and lungs. If you have lived throught the PE's congrats we are some of the lucky few. As for the anger, you have to find a way to get past it. Stress is not good for this type of disease. A few of the symptoms your daughters need to look out for are migrains, miscarriages and of course the blood clots. I am also adopted, so I do understand your need to find your birth family. Good Luck & Wish youl well and my prayers are with you.

Scott,

I know that there is a group of search angels (free help), that solely work on locating birth parents for adoptees with severe medical problems. Also, have you tried contacting the probate court in the county where your adoption was finalized? I would think that with an illness that dangerous, that a judge would agree to open your file.

As for your anger, I can understand having anger from having to go through this, and it possibly being passed to your daughters. However, I'm not sure that being angry at your bio relatives would do anyone much good. People don't usually pass on genetic conditions purposefully; even if it is in their family, they may not have known. If your bio family is located, it wouldn't be prudent to approach them with anger. I'm guessing that you're more angry about not knowing how to find out.
