ISO Half-brother born 3-15-71 - Mother was @ Salvation Army Maternity Home, Durham,NC
My mother gave up a baby boy(my half brother) for adoption in 1971. Birth date of 3-15-71, she named him Michael Eugene and as I understand it, there was a stipulation that his middle name NOT be changed. As far as I know there was no last name on the BC, but if there were it would most likely have been her maiden name of Davenport. She lived with her parents in Fayetteville prior to the birth, but moved to the Salvation Army Maternity Home in Durham for the last 6 weeks of her pregnancy, and gave birth in Durham, most likely at Duke Hospital.
However, because of her place of permanent residency, Cumberland County DSS handled the adoption. The DSS gave a 30 reversal period for if she changed her mind on giving him up for adoption. I do not know the birthfather’s name, but both of them were originally from Roanoke Rapids, NC., a very small north eastern NC mill town where I grew up. They were not married. My mother was 16 at the time of birth and the birthfather was in his 20s.
I really want to find my brother! If this sounds like a match, please contact me. I have not been able to find a search angel that can help in this area.
If he happens to be looking for us, please know we are looking for you too!!!!!!
