Lightbulb House of Mercy Maternity Home

My husband was born on April 30, 1965 in Fargo, ND.

Just received his NON-ID info and it says that his birthmother was at the House of Mercy Maternity Home in Fargo, ND.

She was 19 at the time of his birth and a freshman in college.

If this sounds familiar, please contact us through posting a reply and we can swap information.
Blessing always,
Deb (adoptee's wife)

House of Mercy Maternity Home

I don't know if Catholic Services ran this place or not. My husband's birthmom was a strong Lutheran and he was placed for adoption through Lutheran Family Services but it could have been a nondenominational home for unwed mothers. We have started writing back and forth a little with his birthmom but she hasn't really said too much about the place she spent her last month of pregnancy at. Don't really want to ask too many questions right now as this is a fairly new reunion in progress. I know my husband was given up at birth but we aren't sure where he was placed after birth until he was adopted at 6 wks of age..... that's still an unanswered question that we hope to find out someday.

If I do get anymore information, I'll be sure to post it. Sorry I can't help you out anymore.
Blessings Always, Deb
