Homes in Mississippi
Does anyone know how you would find out what homes were opean in MS in 1969? Does the gov keep records of these homes?

am going through all the searches. I was in the Bethesda Home in Hattiesburg, MS. It was opened in late 60's by Lester Roloff. Search Adoption, for Mississippi.

If you have a specific city in mind in Mississippi, you might look in the (old) City Directories, or phone books, or even ask at the library. I'd advise you go to a large library in the county seat... you might also ask around at nearby adoption agencies that have been around for a while. Ask both young and older social workers there, they may have worked at other places, or have done research papers on adoption during their schooling.
There also are email groups (mailing lists) specific for Mississippi, like MARRA / you can write the list owner at MARRA-owner@yahoogroups.com to get more information or to join the group. GOOD LUCK!
