I'm looking for anyone who was at Lourdeshouse in 1983. I met alot of very supportive people there and am now trying to see how to get information about a son put up for adoption from there in October of 1983. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you contacted Lourdeshouse or Catholic Charities to see if they have post adoptive services available? The agency that handled my adoption has this department and the social worker was a great help and I recently exchanged letters and pictures with my bfather.
Thesearchguru has posted search resources for each state. Here's the information for Pennsylvania. Best of Luck to you! Pennsylvania Searching Resources WELCOME TO THE SEARCH AND REUNION MESSAGE BOARD! If you know what adoption agency handled your adoption contact them for information from your adoption file that will help you with your search. If you were a private adoption or do not know the name of the adoption agency contact this office: Pennsylvania Department of Children, Youth and Families PO Box 2675, Health & Welfare Bldg, Room 131 Harrisburg, PA 17105-2675 (717) 705-2912 Fax: (717) 705-0364 World Wide Web: http://www.dpw.state.pa.us/ocyf/ocyfas.asp E-mail: cutz@state.pa.us INFORMATION THAT IS AVAILABLE IN YOUR STATE: “Non-identifying information” is information from your adoption file about your birth parents. It generally includes ages, marital status, states of birth, education, religion, occupations and a physical description of your birth parents. It should also include the reason for relinquishment and may include information about your aunts, uncles and grandparents. It is called “non-identifying information” because it does not include any identifying information such as names, addresses or social security numbers. If you already have your non-identifying information but it is information given to your adoptive parents at the time of your adoption you should re-apply for the non-identifying information. Agencies are giving out much more comprehensive information now that they did in the past. “Identifying Information” about your birth parents can be released if they have given their consent to release this information. Contact: Division of Vital Records POB 1528 New Castle, PA 16103 Phone: 1-877-PAHEALTH to determine if your birth parents have signed a consent form. Neither the court or the adoption agency that handled the adoption is required to conduct or arrange a search. “Mutual Consent Registry”: Adoption Medical History Registry Office of Children, Youth and Families Bertolino Building, 4th Floor Harrisburg, PA 17105-2675 (717) 772-7011 Toll Free: (800) 227-0225 World Wide Web: http://www.dpw.state.pa.us/adoptpak...medicalhist.asp E-mail: klollo@state.pa.us NON-PROFIT VOLUNTEER CONTACT IN YOUR STATE: Website: www.paadoptionreunionregistry.org Email: kdeluca@comcast.net Pennsylvania Registration Form: http://www.paadoptionreunionregistry...ARRRegForm.htm Many blessings on your search journey, Colleen Buckner, THE SEARCH GURU Adoption Genealogist Moderator for Search and Reunion Message Board http://www.adoptionforums.com http://www.adoptionchat.com http://www.adoptionlists.com http://www.adoption.com http://www.adopting.org http://www.adoptionregistry.com
