A Match has been found
About 8 years ago I registered with Arkansas Mutual Consent Volunteer Registry to meet my cousin if and when he signed up to meet his birth family. A couple of days ago I received a phone call that they have a match (almost unheard of from what I understand) and I am both excited and terrified.
Our next step is to determine if we want the state to facilitate a meeting or do we just want them to send a letter with identifying information and we can contact each other on our own. I am open to either way depending on what he wants. His mother is so excited to hear from him and can hardly wait to meet this baby she never knew. I dont know what to do or how I fit in this other than being the liaison between mother and son. I dont want to be unfeeling and push him away but I dont want to smother either as our very large family can be intimidating at times. I would appreciate any advice or tips and definitely need your prayers that I am able to give him what he needs concerning information and/or a relationship. Afterall he's my cousin.... |
