Good evening all! Sounds like everyone is having a busy AND restful holiday. Congratulations MKW
A new baby is always wonderful news. What's his name? How much did he weigh? Enjoy Hi Aura my friend So nice to have you back and thanks for the pics! I can see Lucky in you! His military picture especially. Those squirrels have it made out there They are very lucky that they've decided to take up residence in your yard! I will keep your friend and his family in my prayers. That blood pressure reading is very scary. I sure hope they can figure something out quickly. I'm sure it makes you feel good to be able to be there for your friend. At the same time, I'm sure it brings back a lot of emotions for you. You are a very special person to be able to reach out like that...I'm not surprised that you ran to their sides. I can't wait to see new pics of you, hubby and Bre...keep them coming, there's never enough!Hey JJ! I'm sure you're "coming down" from the move. I bet it feels real good to know it's done (one end of it anyway) and you can take a breather! Sounds like you're getting your second wind to unpack now. Did you ever get to the game? BTW, Kentucky sounds great, you never know..I have to admit, it is something I've been tossing around in my head! Time will tell Thanks for the hugs....got them and really needed them. Mat's ok. Michael took him to the ER last night. They didn't take a head x-ray but checked him out completely. They think he hit the side or back of his head and it broke the blood vessel in his eye. I don't like it because it keeps getting bigger. They said to watch for concussion but his eyes weren't dilated so that's good. They also lectured him on helmet safety and the Dr. actually said to him he hoped he got some "sense knocked into him." Sent him home with some good reading material on helmet safety and head injury stats. Hopefully my sonny boy has learned his lesson. I've noticed that my eyebrows are growing gray hairs at a rapid speed. Never had them before and I'M NOT LIKING THEM VERY MUCH!! Tbooth I've been thinking of you on and off all day. I know you are enjoying your time with your birthmom. Carla didn't make it up but I spoke with her yesterday. She's been giving me some good advice about handling the teenage years. It's so nice. I never had brothers so it's great to be able to pick her brain on raising boys! Sure wish I could MEET THOSE BOYS but that's another story for another day Janet you've been a very busy girl again! Good thing you can rest before you start pitching again! I'm glad you and hubby are enjoying the weekend. I know what you mean about losing weight! At our heights, every ounce counts! If you gain 1/2 pound it looks like 10! The good thing is it works the other way too...a pound or two makes a difference...do you know what I mean? JJ I had no idea you could do weight watchers online....yes! I'm going to check that out asap! Audrey hope you're muscles are the mends and you enjoyed your movie! I'm trying to pic you and your son on his "monsta" on Mother's Day! Hi Diane! Hope you are having a nice weekend Tammi I can't believe you but I'm so glad you aren't letting that stupid rock stop you! I sure hope it passed by now. Maybe if you hit the loop d loops you'll spin it right out of there! Sorry...but it just went through my mind like that Have a great time!Hello to everyone else...well...summer is unofficially here...here's to a great one and like Audrey said earlier, here's to a fruitful, week, if not summer for all our friends here xo Michele |

Well here I am...theme park doesn't open until 11:00 our time, so I have some spare time to catch up on your posts and add mine! I think the stone is gone - for the most part - there may be a little trace left...lingering...hanging on for dear life... but I still have an infection that the medication didn't fully take care of. Will have to go by the Dr.'s tomorrow and have another urinalysis done... hopefully, a different antibiotic will do the trick! Holiday World, here we come! I'm sure I'll have tired muscles tomorrow morning, just like poor Audrey. Thanks for planting more flowders for us to give away to each other so freely!
That one was for you, Audrey! Mother Florist!!! And I KNOW you weren't referring to MOI when you said that someone around here requires your close scrutiny!!!!!!! Must've been naughty JJ, eh??? Now I hear she's a card shark, too! See? It must've been her! Thanks for posting those pictures, Aura... But your squirrel is the wrong color, he looks brown! He has a rough life, eh? Sitting up there in your tree, nibbling on fresh corn left by the nice homeowner...poor him! Love the pictures of Lucky...you do have some of his facial features! Looking at his pictures from the early 70's brings back such wonderful memories for me...all of my friends looked just like him at the time!!! I always ran around with a much older crowd, so he looks very much like some of my friends at that time! Good ole hippie boys...gotta love 'em! And Jenny looks like a biker-chick all grown up finally! She's a remnant from the hippie days, too, isn't she? Of course she is! One old hippie can ALWAYS spot another one! Hahaha! Hope your friend gets that blood pressure under control soon, and can come home from the hospital in a timely manner. I am still sending up requests to The Big Guy on that one! Hiya Big Sis!! SEE????? No Lil Sis withdrawals today! You should know better than that... I will post on my deathbed, probably! I can see me now...lying there, wheezing in some of my last breaths.... saying BRING ME A LAPTOP SO I CAN BUG MY THREADMATES ONE LAST TIME!!!!!!!!! Also, I would have to appoint a successor to the Mother Hen position...couldn't leave you all without passing on the torch, no way! Hope you're catching up on your rest, hon! Sheesh! Tomorrow, you get to start it all over again on the other end... Poor you! At least you'll have plenty of time before July to rest up and be ready for your BIG TRIP!!!!! I play Gin (maybe I drink more of it than I play...!) and Go-Fish with my daughter...that's the extent of my card playing skills... am a trainable monkey, though! I'm a white wine lady when I drink the stuff... red gives me a headache, though I like the taste. I finally got a blender, so I have been experimenting with some fruity chick drinks lately out on my deck. Not bad! Glad your husband finally took the boy to the ER, Michele! Doesn't really make much sense that they didn't do a head X-ray, though...Um...it WAS a head injury, no?!! Good grief! I hope that getting a lecture from a PROFESSIONAL got through to him...Lord knows they don't listen to US most of the time! It goes in one ear and out the other at times... Sometimes, when I'm fussing at one of my children about something, I know they're sitting there...and what they hear is, "Mwa mwa, mwa mwa mwa mwa" ! Gobblety-gook! Hope the rest of your holiday is fun-filled! Any barbecues on tap for the day? We're taking a cooler full of goodies to the theme park...they have grills on the premises, and we're taking all the fixings! This park offers free sodas while you're there...that's unheard of and very much appreciated! My kids could drink me out of house and home if I had to pay an exhorbitant price every time one of them said "I'm thristy, Mommy!" (which will be every ten minutes!) Hope Mat is okay, hon! Keep us posted! Howdy, Janet! Your church is HUGE!!! Can we say "compound"???!!! I've been to a few huge churches... never really felt like I 'belonged', though...just a face in the crowd. I prefer a very small congregation where everybody knows everybody and you're SORELY missed if you don't show up! One church where we went to for 3 years in Central Kentucky had a congregation of about 40 people on a good Sunday. They were the kindest, most loving people I've ever had the pleasure of attending church with in my life. Our car broke down one time and I didn't have a ride to church for awhile... Somebody would come and pick us up every Sunday morning and Wednesday night - and did this for about 2 months! I can't find a small town church here in the big city...they just don't exist. They're all money-making conglomerates around here...turns me right off of church for the time being... I'm sure God knows why! I've never had Greek food...I hear it's really good, just not much of risk-taker where my nourishment is concerned... gimme my standard staples any day of the week! Throw in some fruit and I'm good to go! Gotta go and get the kids ready for the trip! Hi to everyone else that I haven't addressed personally! Have a great Memorial Day! Pool time, anyone? Hugs, Tammi

I'm going to have to hope I don't miss any big events in your lives....don't really have time to catch up on the goings on. I did want to say hi and let you know that things with bmom are going well. Had a very emotional talk last night that I had no intention of having...guess it has a life of its own sometimes....so feel like I have a bit of an emotional hang-over this morning, but I think it was all good anyway. Very happy she's here! Unfortunately, she stubbed her toe and thinks it could be broken which will cut down on the touring we can do...not that I really care what we do! Hope everyone has a great day!
Michele, I'm sorry Carla didn't come...soon I hope.

Good morning y'all,
Glad to see you Tammi, even more glad that you are feeling a little lighter without than darn rock to weigh you down. sorry, couldn't resist!! I hope you have a blast today with your family hon! It finally stoped raining here but the wind is blowing 40 miles an hour so I think outside work will have to wait. As far as cards, when I was like 12 I used to play pinocle (sp?) with my grandma and grandpa, I don't remember how to play anymore but I think I could learn again, kinda like riding a bike?? I play poker and black jack too. I so want to come in July, lotts of prayers going up for finances...I could meet all of you and Kalvin and Leda, what a trip!! Michele, Morning hon! Sounds like things are calming down at your house today, of course, it is still early!! I hope the doctors lecture settled into his head a little, what happened could have been so much worse! I don't have boys and right about now I'm thinking thank God!! Of course my little angel is just like her mom, a tomboy, so I am sure we will have our share of ER visits! I will get some pictures taken and post them tonight, I promise!!!Tbooth, good to see you check in hon. I am so happy you are connecting with your bmom hon, what a wonderful experience. Look at all the great things you are experiencing now that if you hadn't had the courage to find her you would be missing...what a blessing! I agree with Michele, you are making so many of us smile hon, keep posting! MKW, and what a little blessing for you and your family hon. I always love to hear about a little one being born..God is good! I hope no more scares hon, prayers going up for the new little boy!! Janet, Love the pictures of the church hon, what a beautiful place to worship. We belong to a small church, and like Tammi, I love it! Our congregation is about 250 strong and we know everyone, they are like a second family to us. We were married in that church, Bre was dedicated to God in that church and they were such a support to me and George when he has his heart attack and bypass surgery, they are an incredible blessing to us!! I don't ever want to find our what I would do without our church! I have a busy day ahead of me..lotts of cleaning to do today as I did not do a darn thing yesterday, and I have a bird to spot!! For the last week we keep hearing a tapping on the metal flue of our house, at 6 in the am, we finally spotted to bird the other day, hubby thinks it is a different wood pecker than I do, I say it's a flicker, i know it is, so we are on the search to see who is right. Last night you could hear it out there calling us, more like a taunt, so I am out there with my daughters play binoculars in my socks in the rain, totally sober although the neighbors would probably beg to differ, trying to spot this darn bird. I find it amazing the lengths I will go to to prove my hubby wrong! LOL. Now that I have given you all a good visual as well as a laugh I am off to clean and prove myself right!! As well as take some pictures! Happy Memorial day everyone!!

Happy Memorial Day to all, especially to those who have had family members sacrifice their lives for our freedom.
Thanks to all who are still serving....we appreciate you! My son served in Iraq and there isn't a day that goes by that I am not grateful he safely returned home to us. Hope everyone is also enjoying the long weekend. It is a BEAUTIFUL day in San Diego county so the beaches and parks should be packed! I will be staying home with my husband, puttering around the house and yard, and BBQing steaks later. Our son, Nick, leaves tomorrow for his 2 1/2 month trip to Europe so he will probably be buzzing around here, using MY computer and bringing up items for us to store for him while he is gone. I am so excited for Nick and can't wait to hear of his adventures. Ah....to be 23 years old, no ties, no debt and friends to travel with. After his tour in the Army, this will be enjoyable traveling abroad! He will be settling down in school full-time in the Fall so this is his last hoorah for awhile. As a mom I do have that slight sense of concern (reminiscent of deployment days) so I would greatly appreciate any prayers of protection for him. Thanks gang! JJ - It was so good to talk last night. Thanks for checking in. Kay is really on my heart so know that I continue to pray for her everyday. Karla - Thanks for the great pictures. Should looks like Spring at your house! Aura - Nice to see you! No, I don't take notes to catch up, I just log in twice and go back and forth between the posts and my reply. Makes it so much easier than trying to remember it all. I did, however, messed up the first couple of times I tried it and ended up deleted some very long posts! Thanks for sharing about your friend's health situation. I will certainly be praying for him and his family. At least you have been through the same thing so you can give real understanding to them. God does that on purpose you know! I really liked the family photos you posted. How wonderful for you. When my bmom began emailing photos to me it was like I was in a new world. And it was all connected to me! Thanks for sharing. Janet - Thanks for the greeting. I think you're pretty special too. MKW - Congrats on your new baby nephew. How fun! Tammi - How are you? Keep hoping to get the good 'passing' news. Michele - Hi to you. Hope Mat is recouping okay and you and family are having a great weekend. Will be in touch with you soon... I will be back later as nothing will get done around here if I stay on this computer! Love you all but duty calls. Hi to everyone else I missed, see you later! Love, Diane (mb) |

We have identified the bird...I WAS RIGHT!!!! It is a Northern Flicker and he has taken up residence in the elm tree in our front yard so I guess the morning solos as well as the tapping on our metal flue will be the norm around here! I now have a kink in my neck from looking up for about the last half hour trying to spot the little stinker but hey, small price to pay. I just had to pop in and let y'all know!! I am going to clean some more now!

I also have good news everyone...my friend is being relased from the hospital. His kidneys are only functioning at 60 % but he was taking 15 different meds when he was admitted, for diabetes as well as high blood pressure, they have adjusted his meds and he is doing great!! Thanks everyone for all your prayers.
I took the pictures for you Michele, here they are, some family ones, one of Bre helping me fill bird feeders today and some of our dogs, Izzy is my nine year old, she has the ears that stand up, and Grizz, our almost 2 year old, dumb as a box of rocks but loyal to a fault! I will check in later, dinner has to be made!! Hope everyone is having a great day!!

Michele, you are right about the weight gain and the weight loss for us. When I go for my weigh-in and am told that I lost 1 pound or so and others say they lost 3 pounds or so. They always tell me that I have done good because of my stature and the amount of weight that I need to loose compared to them. Yes, you can do weight watchers online. I did it a couple of years ago and was quite successful. However, circumstances arised and put it all back on and then some. Tried a few times doing it online again but couldn't seem to stick with it so quit trying. Then at work, the opportunity arose to do it with the meetings there and I jumped at it. Overall I have been successful and still have a little ways to go but I am going to keep plugging and for the most part stay on the program. The meetings have given me extra incentive that I didn't have before which has enabled me to loose and keep at it instead of giving up like I had in the past. Thanks for the compliment on my church. I hope that Michael will be ok and mend quickly. Sorry to hear about the eyebrows turning gray.
Tammi, glad to hear that most of the stone has been passed. Hope that you loose what is left of it soon and get rid of that infection. Hope that you are having fun at Holiday World! Tryna, glad to hear that you and bmom are having such a wonderful time. It is well understood the emotions you must be having from a very emotionally charged conversation. As long as you both can talk, have your cry time or whatever and still come together, then you need to do that. In the long run, it is very healing for both of you and your bmom needs that more than ever right now. Aura, glad to hear from you. That is sooo funny about the bird. Bet it felt really good to prove hubby wrong. Men think they know everything and women know nothing thus getting a big kick out of proving my hubby wrong when I can. Happy cleaning!Diane, I do the same thing that you do in that I log in twice, once to read and once for a reply. Where at in Europe is your son going to? I have to tell you that we have quite a number of card players on here. Anyone up for a card game? Thanks for all of the compliments on my church. I, too prefer a small church. The church I go to may be big in size but not in congregation or at least what I consider medium size congregation. We were talking about this over the weekend and it was said that we have about 140-150 families but about 80 families are active. Most Sundays everybody knows each other but when some of the others pop in I am not always sure if they are long-time members or newcomers. I have been going to that church 8 1/2 years now. Anyhow, have had a fairly busy day. It is summertime now. Temps in the 90's the last week or so. We are in for a cool down back into the 80s for a few days as there will be rain. Hubby and I got out and worked in the yard pulling weeds, taking out some dead bushes, trimming back some sick ones. We worked up a pretty good sweat. We plan on bringing in some mulch soon. I belong to a garden club that meets once a month except for in the summertime. However, we are talking about getting together and going to different people's houses and touring their garden making suggestions. I asked to be one of those that gets toured because I would like some suggestions. Some of the members are master gardeners and others should be however, I am a long ways from that yet. So, after we finished working in the yard, we came in and chilled out. Hubby was falling asleep on the couch and I got pretty sleepy myself. I wound up taking a nap. Hubby said that he got up and did some things around the house. We went and grabbed a bite of supper. A good rain came. Now we are in for the evening. I can't believe it that the weekend is almost over. I wish that I had another day off. Oh well, at least it will be a 4 day work week. I don't talk about it much, but I am counting down until the last possible time that I should be hearing from the CI that all is clear to talk to my bbrother. It has been two weeks since the process was initiated for consent to contact, so I should hear back no later than mid June that all has been approved. I am looking forward to talking to him. Talk at you later, Janet
