Has anyone out there thought of going to the press?
Been getting frustrated with my search. My half brother won't answer any attempts at contact. I've spoken with my b-mom's nephew in law who said he will send me some pictures of my mother "in a couple of years" guess he's retiring and going off on a two year sail or something. Found a cousion, spoke with her mother in law who can't remember her new married last name. I've contacted Catholic Churches to look for baptism records, I've contacted cemetaries in CA, I've called probate attorneys and former landlords, and I've hit brick wall after brick wall. I'm getting tired of laying awake trying to think of a new angle I have not tried. I have recently sent off the petition to the court to have my records unsealed. I just want so badly to hear the voice of one birth relative on the phone even if it's just to tell me where to get off! In my frustration I've been checking into some of the grassroots web sites/organizations which are actively trying to get birth records unsealed. I'm wondering if some of us, lots of us, all of us, went to the press for human interest stories on our searchs and the difficulty incountered all over the country that maybe someone would notice our cause and begin to press to get adoption records unsealed. Am I nuts? Give me some feed back and let me know what you think.
