On Monday I found my half-brother. He lives only like 45 minutes away. I haven't met him in person as of yet, but we IM each other almost everyday!!! I just took a chance & called on the phone. He knew about me & his mother (not my mother, we have the same father), told him he should find me. He tried but being I was adopted, he did not know my adopted name. I am a little nervous but I guess it's all a part of the process. Strange though my birthmom's deceased & her family in England doesn't wish contact, but my birth father's side has welcomed me with open arms!!! Just wanted to keep everyone posted on this. thx

I am SO happy for you, DearHeart!!!
I've followed your story from the beginning, and I couldn't be any more pleased that you've FINALLY gotten the break you deserve !!!! The whole deal with the uncle and the family in England was so sad -- as you might recall, I've had much the same situation going on right in my own back yard, although my bmom is very much alive.
At any rate, this news is just wonderful and very encouraging to those of us who were denied contact on one side! There's always hope for the other side, if you can find them!
