October 10th was the first time I came to this site looking for my B-daughter. After going to Adoption.com I put her birth date in and found someone that I thought could very well be her. On November 7th her profile was updated with information about a gift that I sent with her when she was adopted. This gift was hand made so it was a one of a kind. This was the clincher for me!

I went to respond to her and was not able to, I guess the sight was having trouble. Well I still can't. Is there anything worse then finding your daughter and not being able to communicate it with her?

After calling the 800 number at the site I did get a hold of someone who could feel my pain. He gave me her e-mail address.
I sent her a e-mail on Friday Nov 14th. I made it simple adding more details about the gifts that where sent along with her when she was adopted, so she would know it was me. I have not heard a thing from her. I know she may have not even opened it yet. IF that is even the right e-mail address.

I guess I just need to vent...I do have her address from a previous time I was on the web site (when it was working) but feel like that could be overwhelming for her if she just gets a letter in the mail one day.

This is still one of the best Thanksgivings I will have, knowing it will not be long now...

Congratulations and keep pushing. I am an adoptee who recently discovered my birth name. Hopefully I will be able to track down any siblings.

I am sorry for your upset at this happening it must be frustrating.

Why not try contacting the forum people again and ask them to confirm the e-mail address is correct that they gave you?

Perhaps, write another e-mail to that address that they gave you - but say very little this time, say who you are looking for and ask if this is the correct address etc as you sent an e-mail previously and had not had any acknowledgment that it got there safely.
Sometimes you can track e-mails depending on what kind of e-mail program you use and can tell if it has been read. If you have Microsoft Outlook you can select 'Message Options' (usually situated above the 'to address' on top part of the e-mail).
