I finally found my full blooded birth sister! I wrote a letter, sent it certified UPS, and have signature that her husband recieved it last Friday (9/26/03). It has been almost a week, and no response.
I am being patient, because my letter most likely took her by surprise. Just wondering if anyone else has gone though the "waiting perod"? or if there are any adoptees that may shed some light on what she might be experiencing? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated... |

waiting period
Hi Sessy -
There are lot's of us in the same boat - only a week - I gort the registered mail receipt back showing my BMom got my letter on Sept. 10th and still no word! You don't say if your Bsis knew about you or what the circumstances were, but I'd imagine that even if it might not be as emotionally charged as with a bparent, it could still be a bit of a shock to suddenly discover you have a sister you never knew about and take some consideration before deciding what to do/how to do it! Anyway, a week is not long - she may be busy with work or school or whatever and want to give the response the time it deserves. Best of luck to you! I am thinking I will wait a month before attempting another step, but I haven't figured out yet what that step would be if i don't hear. -N.
