Exclamation How to find birthfamily?!?!-Help

I am just absolutely completely STUCK on how to find and locate my birthfamily. This is where I am in the search right now..
When I was younger, I received my non-dentifying information. I found out the shocking news of how young by birthparents were when I was born. Then as I got older and turned 21, I requested the identifying information. I have now had this information for almost 1 year but I am now STUCK.
My birthmother's past names are on it. The birthfather's name was not released. My birth grandmother's obituary was attached. Also was my birth grandfather's name but I cannot find him. Also my 2 half sisters names were attached as well but I cannot find them either. I have NO idea how to find my birthmother or how to contact her.
I have the most important thing::: A name. Now I am just very very let down on what to do next.
I called the only number listed. The cell number was no longer working. The house number was out of service. She is not listed in the white pages and I do not know if that last name is still her last name now or not.
I do not have the money required at these professional searching sites such as OmniTrace right now.
My children have ongoing medical problems and I would love to find my birthfamily for medical information and just to meet them.
I live in the state of TN and I was adopted in the state of TN. However, my birthfamily as far as I know live in Michigan.

Hi:

I know the feeling well... the only name I was given in my non idetifying info was my mother's first name and then they told me she was married twice! Where do you even start?!!! My "break through" was the fact that the adoption agency slipped up and accidently gave me my father's name. Great you think? Not so much. It was Robert Murphy. You should goggle that one because about 2000 people in the US show up!

So, the next step to narrow things down and think who would know her by her first/madden name. Try the class reuntion sites like Reunion.com or Classmates.com. That may have her listed at least within Michigan if that's were she went to school and hopefully her name isn't "Mary Smith or Kay Jones." You can try to approximate a graduation year by her age.

Another great site is Free People Search by ZabaSearch!. This site also lists people by the year they were born! it helped narrow my fathers search down to 3 different people from 2000....it was a great help.

Good luck! Keep me posted on how you do .

Lynn

Maybe someone on this board is a subscriber to ancestry.com. On that site you should be able to find your mother by her maiden name. You can verify she's the right person since you know her birth year and the names of some of her relatives. Then you can keep looking to see if she got married and also find her current address. That's how someone helped me locate my half-sister.

I believe you can sign up for a free trial on that site, but I've never done that. Or maybe you can sign up for a month.
Good luck.

I have a subscription to Ancestry

If you send me a pm with what details you have I will see what I can find on Ancestry.

Kind regards,
Dickons
