Have you tried to ask the adoption agency for guidance? I dont know what the rukes are in TX, but here in NJ it a closed state, yet they were able to make contact on my behalf.....

Yes, Texas is a closed state, and I can join the agency's registry, it's just that my Bparents have to register also. That's one of my next steps. I figure anything helps, and posting on several forums like this is possibly one way, you replied to this, maybe they will to, I appreciate your reply though it gives me some type of hope that someone is still out there looking at my threads,

Mine is a twisted search. I reached out to my adoption agency and they told me that there was letter on file that my mother sent on my 18th birthday. I never knew I was adopted till I turned 38 and I found out by accident. When the agency looked into the letter further, I found out my birthmom died 5 years ago. I was crushed. But I did gain a sister and a grandmother! I also have found my father, but am aprehensive to make contact. Not really sure of the right vs wrong way and I may only get one shot at it so I don't want to screw it up! Many times if you ask the agency, they will try to call or write the person you are looking for on your behalf since its a closed state. They can contact them, they just can't give you names, addresses and phone numbers directly. If your family wants to be found they will respond!
