My wife was born on 03/11/69, she was told she was born at Saint Jude's hospital in L.A. California. The agency was either Saint Anne's or Saint Marys Adoption Agency. She was told that her B.M was 15 years old and that her B.D. was shipping of to Vietnam. My wife's birth name is Anne V. Lucas.
My wife's parenting parents were wonderful people and gave her a great life. Sadly they have both passed... My wife was diagnosed with M.S. about 4 years ago, is currently stable...so we want to get medical information and maybe personal details about her B.P.'s. We have 2 boys ages 9 & 11, and we are just starting the process of searching. Medical information is uppermost in our minds, but we will take all that we can get. This is the first forum we have been to, and I do not know where to go, what to do...or even if this is the correct forum. I am hopeful to get feedback from people here. I have read about Angels but have found none in California. Not that they are not here...Just that this site is so big, that I do not know if I have looked in the correct places. Thanks for your help. argtndgo (Alan) Every day is a Bonus Day! |

Welcome! Try the Search and Reunion section of this forum for search angels. There is a thread there. Once you're in the Search and Reunion section, if you scroll down, you can find a California section that will have tons of good advice pertaining to your state.
I'd suggest she request non-id from the state, and even from the agency. Both may have great clues. My non-id from the agency was several pages long and include medical info up to the time of my birth from my parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and greatgrandparents. It wasn't comprehensive, but a great start. Good luck, and ask any questions. I've found people here most willing to help. |

Hi Alan,
I too was going to say to go ahead and request some non identifying info from LA county. That is the first thing you need to do. Also, you an search california vital statistics for free since you have your wife's birth name. Just look her last name up and you will have to scroll through pages upon pages until you find her and it should have the maiden name of her mother. Then maybe you can find a nice search angel on her that is willing to help look for the birthmother. Good luck.

Hello!
I was adopted at birth and had little/no information to find my birth family with, but with help of many useful resources I was able to find them! I can help you find yours, as I am very good at researching. If I cant help you all the way to the answer I can definitely point you in the right direction. I volunteer my time to help others like myself, so please be patient. Please respond back with as much information that you know. Katy katy.larson@pacom.mil |
