Have any of you ever been contacted by someone who thought you may be a birthrelative of theirs that had been placed for adoption only to find that you weren't? Were you able to respond to their questions without reservation?

Hi!
I'm a birthmother - hope you don't mind me chiming in. The only way sometimes to confirm a biological connection is to talk to the person that contacts you or that you are contacting. I would ask the person for some identifying info, such as weight, county adoption was finalized, so forth. Never post EVERYTHING you know on the internet...leave something out this person can confirm, just for insurance. Unfortunately, we occasionally here of some poor soul being scammed, IMHO it pays to be careful Good Luck! Kim

I was once contacted by a young lady that was so sure I was her father. But I wasn't, she was born back east somewhere when while my daughter was born in Texas. I answered all her question as honestly as I could, even told her I hoped my daughter was as straight forward as she was.
