Hello all! I am searching for my birth parents. I was born September 12, 1988 and adopted on September 15, 1988. I know my mom wanted to name me Amanda Lynn. She was 14 at the time of my birth and my father was 15. The name of hers that I know is Vallari Noelle.

I actually found a profile at this url Amanda , Cheryl Brummett, 09-12, Nevada, 09-15, NVAmanda, Cheryl Brummett, 09-12, Nevada, 09-15, NV, that exactly matches the details of my adoption, leading me to believe that my parents’ names are Cheryl Lynnette Brummett (now Cheryl Treacy) and Ivan Wade Bryan. I have tried e-mail contact but it appears to be inactive (the profile is a few years old).

Thanks to the help of some search angels I do actually have a few possible addresses and phone numbers for each birth parent. However, my [adoptive] mom is worried about my safety so I am trying to get some active e-mail addresses for both parents to get them to formally contact me through the Nevada Department of Health & Human Services (this would at least have the added bonus of verifying their identities).

In any case, I was sort of wondering about protocol in this case. If I can’t get the contact through the NV Dept. of Health & Human Services I would like to start sending out letters to the addresses. However, I don’t want to contact either parent and cause them problems because, say, they didn’t mention to a spouse that I existed (as it were). I really want to make sure I can contact just them to see if they want to meet me.

So I guess I’m wondering if anyone has any suggestions or tips for searching or actual experience in the matter. Sorry for the long post, hehe. Thanks so much!
