I was born in Houma, Louisiana 16 years ago. I've always known I was adopted and it has been my dream to find my birthmother. Catholic Charities was the agency that i was adopted through. If you have any information that would be helpful to me, I'd appreciate it. I'd also like to hear from someone who is in a similar situation. Hi Katie! My name is Katy also. I am a Birth Mom with a daughter your age who was born in New Orleans in December of 1985 and placed through Catholic Charities in New Orleans. I just wanted you to know that I am not actively searching because I want my daughter to do so when she feels comfortable (like you are doing), but I want my daughter to know how to get in touch with me when she wants to. I am putting information in her folder at Catholic Charities in New Orleans and she will be able to get it if she asks. Maybe the same is a possibility for you? I am writing this let you know that you have given me hope. My daughter was given up in the summer of 86. The birthmom is from Houma and seeing your post gave me that bit of hope that I was needed. I hope that my daughter tries to find me just as you are.
