I was given the name of Boyd Adams, by my birth mother... I was born in Baptist Hospital and Volunteers of America in New Orleans and placed for adoption. I was born on April 08,1965. I am searching for my birth mother and sisters. I love them so much whereever they are.

Question Your Group

Hi,
I tried going to the Yahoo group that u listed and it does not exist. I am probably doing something wrong. Also if u could suggest any other support and/or search groups I would be grateful. I am new at this and I have no cluse what to do. So far most of the sites I have gone to are no longer active or the post are over a year old.

Thanks,
Brie

That link works for me. Not sure what exactly you mean by "cannot access through yahoo" - could you be more specific and I'll try to help.

VOA 1963

I am a 40 year old male adoptee searching for my Indiana birth Mom. I believe her name to be Rita Miller. She was from Indiana, 33-34 years of age in 1963. She gave birth to me in New Orleans, Louisiana at Southern Baptist Hospital February 25, 1963. She was a secretary, stood 5'9" tall, fair complexion, blue/gray eyes, brown hair, and of Polish/English decent. Her religion was listed as Baptist. She completed high school, business training, and two semesters of college. Rita's father was 70 years of age in 1962-63, completed art school and was employed as a printing contractor. He was 5'5" tall, weighed 170 pounds, had brown hair, blue eyes, and fair complexion. Rita's Mom was 59 in 1962-63, she was 5'3" tall, weighed 155 pounds, had dark brown hair, blue eyes, and fair complexion. She had completed high school. Rita had one brother (age 25) in 1962-3 and one sister (age 27). Please e-mail me at KvnBoutte@aol.com and may God Bless you I have been looking for Rita for a long time. I Love You!!

I was adopted there.

Here is my info, I am seeking for my birth parents!

02/26/79 Male

Hello all, I would greatly appreciate any help you all can give me.

I am looking for my biological parents. My father graduated around 1.9.7.6-1.9.7.9, he is Mexican/Hispanic. He was 20 years old at the time of my birth (1979). He had brown curly hair about 5'7 160lbs and dark skin. He may have wanted to become a plumber for a living. If you had anyone that graduated that fits that basic description could you please email me at dec3iver@cox.net. My name is Cavin O'Quin from Baton Rouge

I was adopted at volunteers of america

How does this support group help in locating birth parents? I would be interested to finding out anything.

Support group

We usually find out where you were adopted through and ask for you to write them for non-identifying information. Louisiana has a free registry that you can place your information with them and if they have a match they contact you. Also the ISRR International Soudex Reunion Registry is another free registry. It is a good place to listen to birth moms, adoptees, and adoptive parents stories. Also you can listen to how other people have gone about their search.

I've already gotten my non-identifying information, and I'm kinda stuck. I know that my father graduated from HS and I was born in New Orleans. I have the papers for the ISRR but haven't filled them out yet. My father is mexican with brown curly hair, was 20 years old when I was born. That makes him 44 years old now. I was going to look thru yearbooks from HS's close to the VOA in New Orleans and see if I could find someone that fits what he looks like.. But other then that, it seems I am stuck unless I pay for the 900.00 to do a PI search.
