12/25/1965 ISO of Brother

I am searching for my brother who was born in Reno, Nevada on Christmas Day, 1965. His adoptive parents were living in Las Vegas. His adoptive father is an engineer. I have reason to believe he is in Louisiana now as that is where is adoptive parents were originally from, both from large families.

Please if you have any information, I would appreciate it. I have just found out about you and I was also placed for adoption in March 1967.

Thank you,

What is the Louisiana Adoption Registry?

The Louisiana Adoption Registry is a registry established by the Department of Social Services to facilitate voluntary contact between adult adoptees, their birth parents and/or siblings.

Who may register?

You may register if you are over 18 and your adoption, your child’s or your sibling’s adoption was legally finalized in the State of Louisiana.

How do I get on the registry?

Contact the registry at (225) 342-9922 or 1-800-259-2456 and request a Voluntary Registry packet which will provide all the information necessary for registration. The process includes completion of an affidavit and a $25.00 fee. There is also a counseling requirement that must be met prior to voluntary release of any identifying information, but this is not required in order to register.

Where do I write?

Should you prefer to write us, send your letter to:

The Louisiana Voluntary
Adoption Registry
Post Office Box 3318
Baton Rouge, LA 70821

And indicate whether you are an adoptee, birth parent or sibling and include your name, mailing address, and phone number. We will send you a registry packet or call you if we have questions.

If you have further questions, you may call the Registry at (225)-342-9922 or 1-800-259-2456.
