I am looking for my dad's birth parents whose last name is Strickland, he was adopted in March of 1954 from the Methodist home in New Orleans, La. His birthname was Charles Ray Strickland I have very little info about his parents, I know they were from La, his mother was 22 and his dad was 31 then his adoptive parents are both deceased now he now lives in Mississippi has 2 kids me and a 12 yr old son. We want to find them, I haven't had much luck with the agency. If anyone knows any stricklands that had a son they gave up in 1954 named Charles Ray Strickland please contact me. My name is Kimberly. There are roughly 50 Stricklands in the New Orleans phone book... have you tried writing those? I know that's a long shot but I know there are some Stricklands with close ties to the city (ie grew up here).

Also, ask your father if he'd be interested in writing in support of the bill in MS to open adoption records.

I don't talk to my dad cause of some legal issues from his adoptive parents but I can find out about opeining it I'm from Gulfport, Ms originally that is where my family is. I'm in Kansas now cause my hubby is in the military, but I go down there some and visit.
