Is this your first meeting?

I say just be yourself…as hard as that might be.

You don’t indicate what type of adoption this is…so I cant really give more advice. Is this a pre-placement or Post placement meeting? Was this a foster to adopt situation or infant adoption?

If you’ve had the children in your care for some time…maybe share some pictures.

Bring pictures for her, and a handwritten note in your best handwriting. You will be WAY to nervous to tell her EVERYTHING! So write a letter and either give it to her right away and let her read it, or ask her to save it for when she leaves. I suggest always giving it to her right away, because then you wont chicken out at the end! Good luck on your meeting!

birth mom meeting

Hi, I guess I should have given a bit more info. We got the children as infants but it was a foster/adopt situation. We have had both children over two years.

The birth mom canceled about three hours before the meeting. I went ahead and sent the photos and baby book information I had planned on taking, along with a I letter. I am not certain if she will get back with me or not. The ball is in her court now.

Thanks for your suggestions. I am hoping to have some contact later. Thanks again. Belle
