Christmas gift ideas for birthmom???

Hello all, our oldest daughters birthmom comes for Thanksgiving every year. She and the girls exchange Christmas gifts. I am running out of ideas as to what to get her. She is in college. She lives in the dorm. In the past we have done gift cards for book stores, picture frames, gift baskets with Christmas goodies, bath and body. Any ideas??? Any input would be appreicated!!

Maybe she'd enjoy a small plastic tree for her dorm room, decorated with homemade stuff by your family. They're not terribly expensive. Also, if she's a student, a gift certificate to go eat out with her mom or something can be nice.

One thing we did was hand imprints in ceramic. Or on cloth & then frame with a picture of them in it. A necklace with the child's birth stone. I gave our 4 year old's Bmom a picture of our daughter holding her hands to her heart. On the Matte I had written, "I Love You With All My Heart". I also send art work that the kids do. Sometimes if it's small, I'll frame it. If she comes home fro the Holidays, maybe go to one of those One Hour Photographers like "pictures Today" and get photos done. We did that last Christmas with our 2 year olds BMom. Just the 2 of them, it was VERY special. For Mother's Day we made Stepping Stones with their footprint & name in them. Then the girls did the decorating with the colored glass & stones. It was AWESOME!

This year we are making quilts. In the squares I'm putting pictures of them together & some squares will have drawing from the kids. The pictures go from birth to present. Each BMom will have their own of course. LOL

I like to give sentimental gifts but we also send practical ones...candles, lotions, photo albums ( I send TONS of pictures so those come in handy), etc.

Have Fun

Deb
