I need advice Please!!!
I need advice on what we should do next. I had my son in 2003. He was born in Indiana. My son's real father was abusive so I left him and don't want my son to remember any of this. I don't want him to have any recollection of the bad people in the world. We moved to Ohio when my son was almost 2 years old. My son's real father has not seen him since July of 2005. I think it's been at least 3 years since he has talked to my son. I got married on July of 2007 and my wonderful husband wants to adopt our son. I have tried to find information about this all over the internet. Will my son's real father have to sign over rights even though it's been at least 3 years since he has had any contact and has not seen him in almost 4 years? We just want to do this as easily and stress-free as possible. My son doesn't even know my husband is not his birth father.
Thank you for any help or advice!!!!!! |

From what I understand (not experience), your son's bio father will have to have some type of notification, even if it's published in a newspaper. Get a lawyer who's familiar with family law. Good luck!
