Question on Subsidy and Mental Health
Hi, does anyone know of the mental health and RTC expenses can be included in the subsidy if the state does not pay on these? I noticed on the nacac website that some states allow RTC while others do not. How does this system work, particularly in an out of state adoption. We are in NY and may adopt out of state.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Juli714

Juli my own personal experience may also be a difference in state regulations. Etc I would want it spelled out that should Your child require RTC and I would also add a theraputic group home etc that this is included in your subsidy. Sadly I know several families that did adopt mentally ill kids from the state and their subsidy did not spell that out the child had to be made a state ward Again to get RTc and a group home paid for by the very state that they adopted their child from.
