therapeutic listening programs
Anyone have any experience with some of the therapeutic listening programs out there for auditory processing/sensory integration problems? Particularly the Frick method or Samonas? Our OT would like us to try the Frick method. It requires a special CD player, evidently, and the earphones needed cost up to $400. Eeek! Any experiences/opinions welcome. Thanks.

Our OT suggested something like this. I don't remember the exact names, but I might be able to find it...somewhere....
We didn't actually ever do it, due to cost alone. It wasn't covered by our insurance (of course! ) so we just couldn't. ![]()

You got it - not covered by insurance. I just want to know if anyone has had great success with this method before we pay for all the equipment.

We use theraputic listening with our youngest son. We're just starting, but we are seeing success already. Our OT allows us to rent the equipment for around $50 a month so we can continue at home. Is it possible your OT will allow you to do something like that?

We are in the middle of Fast Forword. It is a computer based therapy. It is pretty intense - 1 hour x 5 days a week for 6 - 8 or more weeks. She does it at home so that's good. It is pricey and very likely not covered by insurance. Our DD is making progress in the games but we don't know at this point how that will transfer to real life.
