A long time ago my bio son was on metadate CD. It controlled his behaviors very well for about 6 hours. The crash coming off of it was pretty nasty--everything ramped right up until we were in full battle mode. This made it difficult for him to calm down and get to sleep, so we were often up till the wee hours. The pdoc gave him remeron to help with that, but it sometimes wasn't quite enough. Pdoc also didn't want to add a second dose to make home time as productive as school time.

As far as the eating thing, N was also on zyprexa at the same time, so he gained weight instead of losing it! I know lots of kids have trouble with appetite while on metadate, just not my kid!
