Inspiration (long)
Dear All,
I am new to this message board so a great big hello to you all! My husband and I were just approved and that blessed letter FINALLY came to us in the mail! One of my biggest irks about adopting is that you don't get a nice easy 9 month time frame like those who get pregnant get. In all honesty I am NOT a patient person, though I think I have come a long way since going through infertility and now the adoption process. I have this idea of when the perfect time would be for us to have a baby. Of course, I see things in an earthly view such as that when I'll be finished with school and hubby will have a long paid vacation- but of course I don't know the whole picture as the Lord does. At one time, I felt that I maybe had inspiration about when we were going to receive a baby, but now I'm not so sure. I know many people at my local agency that have been waiting quite awhile and my "idea" seems a little soon. Not to mention our social worker let us know that we were probably not the best pick either (though frankly its up to the Lord, not him). We're good people, but we're still young and not established in careers etc. Has anyone else experienced this where they felt they knew approximately when they would be receiving a baby? I am really afraid I am just having wishful thoughts as our social worker warns me, and will end up being overly discouraged if I'm wrong. Second guessing myself, hope21 |

hope21, We have 3 adopted from LDSFS. With our first I had a huge feeling of the date I needed to get our initial paperwork in. Our little girl came 9 months and 11 days from that date. We were young, not much education ect. The Spirit new which child was ours though. We had similar experiences with the next two. I think most often our feelings are the truth. By the way, we had several other chances to adopt, but none "felt" right. If we would have gone with those, we would not have the children we have today. jenqw
