Hi, Sharon. The other response was right--a couple has to be married in the temple in order to adopt through LDS Family Services. A good friend of mine is LDS and her husband is of another Christian faith. They just adopted through another agency, but the LDS Family Services Social Worker was very helpful to her in helping her locate another agency and give her advice throughout. You might want to contact you nearest LDS Family Services agency anyway. You can find out that number by calling Lori Throckmorton, the adoption Program Specialist in Salt Lake City at (800) 537-6658, or emailing her at throckmortonl@ldschurch.org.
