Talking New here and Finally on our way!

Hi all! I'm new to this forum. My husband and I have just been approved for adoption through LDSFS. We are so excited! We know it may be years before we are selected, but we are so excited that we have finally been approved. Now we feel like we can finally begin getting ready!

I just wanted to say hi to everyone. I hope I can find my way around this place. It looks like there is so much great information!

Welcome! There is a lot of info. here. It is a long wait. But depending on what you are willing to accept on your preference checklist will really depend on your wait. Anyway... feel free to PM me if you have any questions.. or just ask here.

WELCOME!!!
Not too much action in this specific forum, but we're all milling around the other places.

If you resign yourself to waiting 18 months (average wait time)...and remind yourself not to worry until the 18 month mark, it will pass sooner. Also, it made the waiteasier knowing if our profile had been looked at. So on the 20th of each month, I'd call and ask if we'd been on "soft hold" that month. Soft hold means a bmom has taken your profile home with a few others to consider.

Knowing that we kept being in the "top 5" made the wait easier. Like it upped our odds or something. In the end, none of that even mattered and we were found online...then adopted a 4 yr old.
