Waiting to be Matched

Anybody interested in starting an LDS waiting to be matched thread? Whether you are going through LDSFS, a private agency, or are doing it yourself, lets support each other in our (seemingly forever long) wait!!

We have been approved and waiting through a private agency for 3 months, and have been shown on 7 babies, but no successful adoptions yet. Definitely getting anxious and tired of the wait. It would be nice to be able to talk to some LDS people about things while I'm trying to not go insane from waiting!!

Sounds like a good idea! I am not currently waiting, as Ava is only 8 1/2 months old, but I am thinking of resubmitting our paperwork in the next couple of months and slowly getting everything ready. I rushed the process with Ava's adoption and I was hoping I could slowly go through it this next time. Less stress...I am hoping.

I think it is a great idea to support each other through the many ups and downs of the adoption process.

Back from attending the pity party on the general adoptive parents forum. After much prayer, I know the Lord has given me the strength to wait longer. I had a blessing a couple of weeks ago from my dh that said not to look for our baby before Christmas, so it was hard when we were presented with a situation that was absolutely perfect for us in every way, except that the emom was due yesterday. So, we said to go ahead and submit our profile, and I have tried so hard to not get my hopes up for this one, knowing what the blessing said and everything, but it is so hard, kwim? I really think that she is going to parent, because she hasn't picked anyone yet, and like I said, she was due yesterday, and she's had the profiles for almost 3 weeks. In the back of my mind I keep hoping that this baby will be ours, and he will just be born late (after Christmas

). Silly huh! Well, I'm better now. Ready for Christmas with my 3 wonderful children and sweet dh! Hugs to everyone out there!

DH just agreed that once our ebay and online business was able to generate 1k net profit, that we could go ahead and apply again...only now, I'm thinking I wanna go thru foster care instead...I'm not really getting the whole LDSFS vibe yet....

Well, waiting to hear from our cw on a situation that we have been presented on (three weeks ago). I called this morning to see if there has been any info, and he was on the phone with the agency director, so he is going to call me back. Why am I nervous? I don't think the emom is going to pick us, or anyone else for that matter. I really think this emom is going to parent, just by what we know. Ah well, we'll see.

We are ready and waiting to find our children through DHS. I would have preferred to go back to Guatemala or through LDSFS but I feel strongly that our kids (3 of them!) are going to be found through DHS. That is not a route I have ever been comfortable with but I feel that's our route this time.

I hope we find them soon and I pray I'm up to the challenge. I always thought I'd have 2 kids. When we find these 3, we'll have 7 under roof and 9 all together! Whose idea is this anyways?!? I am going on faith.

I so know what you mean, Jeannine. We were going to go through LDSFS, but after much prayer, we were lead to a different agency. We feel that our baby is going to come to us this way.

Well, just called the cw again, and the emom decided to parent, just like we thought she would. Oh well. Back to waiting.

at least your off of soft hold, and being shown again! I also know of some bmoms who brought the child home, parented for 2 weeks, then called the family they had chosen and decided to place after all.

Truthfully, anything would be nice. We ran into some rough times these last couple of months, and we had to dip heavily into our adoption fund. As a result, we only have about half of what we did 3 months ago. We are back on track now, but every situation that we have seen has been about $5,000-10,000 more than we have. It is hard to stay positive.

It was good to come back and see all the responses. I am sorry that the situation didn't work out for you Crystalp. I will keep my fingers crossed that you will get "the call" the day after Christmas...LOL! We are also saving money right now for the next adoption. I would like to get our paperwork and stuff ready so that we can submit when we feel it is right. But everytime I get some money tucked away something happens that dips into the adoption fund. Too bad Adoption can be so expensive.

You know it, Laura. I will be okay. For some reason this is just being a couple of really hard days. I'm hoping for some strength to be able to keep waiting, and to stay sane while doing it, too
