Question adoption-friendly pediatricians in Utah?

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone can suggest a pediatrician who is at least somewhat knowledgeable/sensitive to adoption in the Salt Lake City area. I'm not sure if you can post answers here on the site, if not, please PM me with your suggestions.

DH and I (6 years after we started trying to have a baby, and 2 1/2 years since we started waiting for a match) have been matched with the most wonderful expectant birthmom ever!!! We're expecting a baby boy September 3rd.

Thanks!
DeafSiren

Congrats Deaf Siren! What an exciting time. We don't live in your area, but I am sure that you will find that most pediatricians are very adoption friendly. Maybe you could ask around your ward for any references. I chose my pediatrician based on good reccomendations from friends and ward members. As soon as you choose a pediatrician, contact them a couple of weeks before the birth of your child and let them know that you are adopting any day and that you will need to be able to bring the baby in as soon as you arrive home from the placement for a checkup. The day after we got home from placement I called into our ped. office and they got in the very same day for a checkup.

Well, I as soooo excited for you! Keep us updated !

We are adopting, but have a two year old of our own. I actually called my Pediatrician to ask about this exact thing. She seems to be more than happly to help in anyway she can. I'm not sure if she has been through this before with a pervous patient, but she's been very helpful. Her name is Doctor Harper and her number is 801.575.8080. She's located in SLC about four blocks North of 6th East. She was the doctor that examined my daughter in the hospital and that's how we found her. I think she's on maternity leave right now, but she should be back in the office soon. Good luck, I hope it works out!!
