So, Kelcee had an eval with the school that is providing her speech therapy. I let them know that I was looking to start her in preschool a few days a week thinking it might help with her speech. They informed that they didn't think she would do well with that at this moment. They are saying that she has some slight sensory issues. Because she doesn't like her hands getting dirty or touching things like uncooked rice.
I am a little confused by this. Couldn't this just be something she doesn't like? Would you at least try your child in preschool just to see if they transitioned into it? I need help. I thought I would post here too, to maybe get a little insight from anyone. Thanks.

I don't like getting my hands dirty either or touching things that could get my hands dirty, but that doesn't mean I have sensory issues.
Give preschool a try. If after a while you think that she's not ready, then take her out. You said that you only want to send her a few days a week anyway to help with her speech, so put her in and see what happens. |

OH please. Why does everyone have to have something wrong these days. I would try her in preschool maybe two days a week and see if she does well or not you don't have anything to loose. Castle has a speech delay although this summer she has over come most of it, but she is going to Mother's Day Out on T-T starting Aug. 9 I think it is the best thing for them once they reach three years old.

I teach preschool and that is the craziest thing I have heard in a while. Not all kids are into sensory stuff. Preschool has much to offer and that really should not matter. I had a student with a serious speech problem and preschool really did help. Best Wishes, Terri
