We've been chosen!!

Well, where to begin. Our case worker from LDSFS called me at work today and gave us the great news . . . we were chosen by a birthmother!!! I'm still in complete shock and awe by all of this. He said the only drawback is that she's not due until October, but I said that was when my birthday is so that makes it all the better. It does seem like an awefully long time to wait, but I'm just trying to think positive and look at it as better preperation time. Now we just sit and wait, prepare, and hope and pray that she won't change her mind and that all will continue to go well with her pregnancy. This is such an exciting time for us.

Thanks! Well, to start at the beginning we've been trying to get pregnant for almost 4 years now. We turned in our paperwork to LDSFS in October 2002, had our home study Dec. 19th 2002, and were approved on Jan. 15, 2003. So almost 3 months since we've been approved. You know what's crazy? From the time we were approved to when the baby will be born is exactly 9 months! God works in mysterious ways and I truly believe His hand was in this great work. There are so many emotions going on inside of me . . . excitement, scared, nervous, anticipation. I told my boss this morning I had morning sickness!

Taryn, That is what happened with our first. I felt strong promptings to put in our paper work on a specific day. We had the 6 month wait and soon after heard from our birthmom. It was 9 months from start to placement. How exciting for you!!! Jenqw

This gives me chills, for years we haven't felt that we should adopt, then in november 2002 I went and got the application anyway just to check it out and I held on to it for almost 5 months unable to come to a decision, and I finally felt at peace with submitting it a few weeks ago, when I did it was the most amazing feeling! As we left I told my husband, I felt as if I had just found out that I was PG and He said he felt that it would be less than 90 days from our acceptance till we would have a baby in our home....I counted it back and if it is true, than it would be 9 months from when we picked up the application! We are still waiting for our references to finish, and then the homestudy! I really believe that all this is SO INSPIRED all the way thru. I am happy for you Taryn! I wonder how many times this (feelings)happens....

Your story sounds like ours.. except

We also put our paper work in around yours, I think it was october, we had our homestudy in december and were approved on Jan 17th. We just have not heard of any babies yet. I keep getting the feeling this is going to be a long wait. I am so excited for you. I hope all goes well, your heart must be going a mile a minute.
