Birthmother Support Group
Hello everyone. I have a birthson who just recently turned 3 years old. Ever since I became a birthmom, I have always wanted to start some kind of support group for birthmoms in my area. I am now living in Utah county, utah and would love some ideas as to how to go about this...also, if anybody in the area is interested in helping out, please email me at LMC618@hotmail.com

Hi,
What a great idea! I wish you all the best in making it happen. There is a yahoo group (ldsbirthmoms) that you might want to try tapping into. I'm not sure how active that group is, but they would probably respond to any inquiries and might be able to give you some good thoughts about starting up your support group. |

I would sure be interested in such a group. I am both an adoptee and a birth mother. What sort of help would you need?

I am also a LDS birthmom, but I also adopted a son four years ago. So, I have literally been on both sides of the issue. I think it is a great idea. There is still such a stigma among LDS about birthmoms. It would be great to have someone to talk to without feeling judged.
