They could, but they won't. I had to do the same...we met at the church. But, I would have met anywhere to get the information. Good luck and bring your patience.

Hi,
Did you turn in any forms? Did you pay for nonidentifying information? If so, then yes, you do have to meet with the case worker to get the info -- pain in the butt, but worth it to get the info. Maybe a face to face visit would be good because you can plead with them to check your file. If both parties send in consent-to-contact forms then you should be able to get information. But I see you are from Utah. Were you born and adopted there also. If so, it is the hardest state to get information from. But don't give up! Get that non-identifying information and keep searching. I am a birthmom who relinquished in GA through LDSFS. I went through a lot of trouble to get the information that the law said I was supposed to have. But persistence won out. If I can help PM me. I will do what I can. Good Luck, Deb |

Don't let them talk you out of searching!!!
You have rights and stand up to them, put in for non-id and also consent to contactforms. make double sure your birth date is exact and not altered, in some states that can be done. good luck and follow geogdeb's advice. |

I had a good experience with the social worker. I didn't even request non-id info and she gave it to me. She helped me go through other searching options since they did not have anything identifying for me. She gave me a list of websites to look into. She was very sensitive to my feelings and questions. I feel bad for those who had a negative experience with LDSFS, but they were very helpful and friendly with everything.

I meet with the LDS social worker... I had the same information that he brought to the table. I was hoping for first or middle name. They wouldn't even supply me with the last name, luckily a search angel was able to help me get that
