ISO Birthparents -boy born on May 24,1978
I was born in Granada Hills, Ca on 24 May 1978 and was adopted through the LDS. I was hoping to get some info since I have turned in forms to the state of Ca and also turned in forms to the LDS!
I even tried Worldwide tracers and spent some money on them and they found NOTHING - What else can I do? Thanks ![]() |

The LDS Agency has sent me paperwork for the Consent for Contact- Its a state form that you fill out and get notarized and the LDS agency sends it to SLC!

Hi, hjcpmeek! Have you registered with ISRR yet?
International Soundex Reunion Registry 775-882-7755 PO Box 2312, Carson City, NV 89702-2312 ISRR This is the oldest, biggest mutual consent registry around. Don't give up, okay? Sometimes it takes a long time. My son and I were just reunited last month using the LDS reunion registry... he was adopted in 1971. Have you submitted a profile on this site yet? That is how we found each other. I wish the best for you. Susan (((HUGS))) |

I presume you've seen on the CA birth database the boy born in LA County on your day with the names Martin and Wiand. Another boy is listed with Martin as both the surname and mother's name -- probably a duplicate listing. sfgenealogy | CABI Search
The name Wiand is not very common, so have you looked up all the men with that last name in CA? With some cross-referencing on the various people search sites, you can figure out their approximate ages. Perhaps it wouldn't hurt to send a letter to all the possible fathers, or even send letters to all Wiands (male and female) in case some family member would have some knowledge. You might also try searching for Wiands on classmate sites in the Granada Hills area (there are also a number of other cities in the San Fernando Valley surrounding Granada Hills so don't limit yourself to just GH). Every city did not have its own hospital. Do you have any idea how old your bparents were? If you could guess what year your bmom graduated from high school, you could contact any girl with the maiden name Martin at the right age. Sorry I don't have better advice. I'm not sure what you'd have to do to get your original birth certificate. Best of wishes. |

2yrs ago, I sent letters to ever Wiand that I could find addresses for and many letters came back. At the time of my birth my father was in his late 20's and I believe my mother was in her early 20's but i would have to get out the non-id info that verify that- he was very tall (6'3-6'5). I went through and was going through classmates and trying to find all the Martin's in the area- trying to contact them all

It sounds like you have been very thorough in your search -- I'm sorry you haven't made a connection yet. If your parents were in their 20's when you were born, it's more likely that other family members did not know of the pregnancy. My bfather told no one in his family that my bmom was pregnant -- but some cousins found out after I was born -- they're the ones who recently found me online by my birthdate and city of birth.
Wow, your bdad was tall! Are you tall as well? I hope your aparents told you some facts about your bparents when you were growing up. My aparents told me nothing -- and I remember being really nervous about my height when I grew taller than my older abrother (from different bparents). And my abrother was not happy about being short! It turned out that as adults he is a few inches taller than me, but it sure was traumatic growing up not knowing anything about our bparents. Sorry if I'm digressing. You sound like you're doing everything right in your search. Keep plugging -- you never know what will come up -- I was "found" at age 54. Have you tried to get a copy of your original birth certificate? I feel your frustration, and I wish the best for you. |
