So here I go.
Hello eveyone. My name is Claire and I was born 2/79 in Michigan. I have been looking for my birth family on and off for the the past 9 years. I had become discouraged with dealing with LDSSS and just quit looking several years ago. I am ready to do this now and I am in it for the long haul. Basicly I am just looking for some friends and support in dealing with the same types of things and any helpful pointers from those of you have been there already.
I have my orginial adoption records that my parents were given and everything it edited with tape over the names and such. I did request my Non Identifing information a while back, but I never recieved it or followed up on it. I have what I believe what it would be in my file already. It is one typed sheet with height, weight range, eye color, and hobbies. I am not really sure where to go from here, and would be grateful for any guidence at this point. Thanks, and I am going to peruse the forum a bit. I just wanted to introduce myself. ![]() ISO Birth family~ 2/79, Michigan |

hi,
i am in the same boat. i am afraid i will never find my son. the lds social services is very secretive and controlling with their info. i am wondering now if paying the 50 bucks to get the non identifying info will even do me any good. my heart is broken. i keep thinking "what have i done?" i was basically forced into doing the adoption by family and church in the name of love and forgiveness (for my sins). im sad. any how i hope you have luck in your search. i understand how you feel. lora |

Hi Claire,
I have had a successful LDSSS search and know a little bit about the ins and outs of searching. I helped my bson's sister find her bmom, also through LDSSS. I can't promise anything but support and all the help I can give. Please send me a PM if you are interested and I will see what I can do. Good Luck!!!! Deb |

Don't give up, honey...I was just reunited via this website with my birthson a little over a week ago. He was born in 1971... it CAN happen. Hang in there, okay? You'll get plenty of advice here. Best wishes to you!

I've been looking for my birth family for many years and spent money with hiring a company and still nothing!
Sent my non-id info to the state and to the LDS- the state tells you they have nothing and to contact the agency you were adopted in! Not sure what else there is to do... besides posting on sites with date and sending in the non-id paperwork, which is FREE |

I too was adopted through LDS social services. I was given non-identifying info. It has only helped me in looking for the age of my birth-mom at the time. She was 20, and was single. I would be happy to join this trek with you in hopes that we both find what we are looking for. I have the same sheet that has tape over all the "important" info.
