LDS Washington

Does anybody know if there is an e-mail address that I can have for the LDS-SS in washington? I want to begin looking for my birth mother, and I don't know where to start. Thanks.

Another good way to start is to include your birthplace, gender and birthdate in your post. Also, join the registry at adoptions.com

Good Luck,

Deb

I had my birthdaughter in Utah and I live in FL so had to go thru my local LDSFS in FL. You can get the forms from them and pay $50 and they will register you if the adoption was handled by them. They have a "mutual consent" registry of sorts. You should be able to get nonid thru them as well. Don't expect them to welcome you with open arms, they are very closed and cautious about the adoptions they handle. I am sure the laws of Washington take presidence though, which will maybe help. Good luck.

You are right about LDSFS. They are very difficult to deal with. The $50.00 is actually for non-identifying information. The mutual consent registry is free. I sent $50.00 in almost 6 months ago and still nothing! It is very frustrating. I just have to try and not think about it most days, other wise it makes me crazy! Good luck in all your searches!

Hi I was also adopted through LDS-SS. I didn't have much luck. It was all round about and no help. They basically just told me I would have to hire a court appointed delegate to handle things.
If you have money to spare this may be a good option for you. For me, I posted ads in newsletters, community papers and finally craigslist under "wanted". Craigslist worked out and resulted in a reunion.
My sister is also adopted through LDS-SS and her birthparents found her by placing an ad in the Spokesman Review in WA.
Good luck on your search. I hope this helps.
