seeking active ld member
Is there an active lds member out there that would be willing to do a membership lookup for me on the lds website?

there is no way to do this via the internet. If you wanted to look up an LDS church member thier records would be kept in thier local area they live in and most likely somewhere at church headquarters in Salt Lake CIty, but I have no idea as to how anyone would obtain those.
The LDS website gives information regarding the church teachings as well as where to attend church in areas of the world. There are also links to geneology and other websites, but nothing like a member listing of any sorts.

you could try your local lds church. Talk to the bishop or the ward clerk and let them know what you are looking for. They may be able to help you. This may take awile as I am sure they do not get this request too often. They do however have access to the membership records and may be able to help you out.
