It turned out that this little boy had "autistic features" but was not dx with Autism. We were not placed with him (after our social worker reconsidered) It seems he had a severe agressive behavior problem as well. We have other young children so, that wouldn't have been a good match. We were placed with a 4 year old girl. She has special needs and has made US feel very SPECIAL, blessed. We finalize this month. Sonni

I work with a 6 yo girl at my church with Angelman's syndrome. It is very rare, but has similar traits as autism. She had behavior issues stemming from frustration in her ability to communicate her needs (non verbal). I would look into this possibility for the cw to pass on to the next caregivers. There are tools such as pex and signing available. BTW she hears my commands just fine but can't even make animal noises.
