time frame

We are trying to plan that the new child would be about 2 years younger than our son or pretty close. I was told the infant would be about 4 months old. Does this sound about right to everyone? Thanks Denise

As a previous post indicated, they do use Eastern in Korea, but I have no idea how Eastern compares to Holt or what their positions are with regard to the medical condition that you mentioned. However I will tell you that the staff at ASIA is very honest and helpful. For example, when we were starting our first adoption, I asked what would happen if I got pregnant while in the adoption process. The senior staff member's response was something like "well, I was x months pregnant when I went to pick up my adopted child from the airport"! When we started the process with our first, we applied to both their China and Korea programs, but quickly moved to the Korea program because it was moving much faster at the time. With respect to times, our first adoption took 10 months from application to arrival (with a snag - lost paperwork), and our second took 7 months. Our first (daughter) arrived home at age 4 months, and our second (son) arrived home at 6 months. They were both escorted. Of course, this data is not new; however the good news was that way back in 1996 and 1998, we were also told the process would take between 10 and 12 months, and it took much less. This was also the case with others adopting at the time that we A 9-12 month wait seems pretty good these days! Oh, another good thing about ASIA is they have many cultural activities throughout the year for adoptive families, like holiday parties, picnics, cultural camps, etc. Good luck.

Of course any info you have will help. We don't want to start til september for financial reasons. Hopefully it will all come together again!
