question regarding religion and adoption

Hi, I'm new to the site and new to the process of adoption as well. My wife and I are professionals with three children (3, 5, and 7) and are taking the first steps with an agency here in Kentucky to adopt a child from Korea.

One of the questions on the pre-application was simply the word RELIGION with a space provided for an answer. Neither my wife or I believe in 'god' and we have raised our children in a secular household.

I suppose my question is, what should we answer for this question? Will how we answer have an impact on our approval as adoptive parents?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

Some agencies are christian agencies and choose only to have christian clients. If you aren't applying to an agency such as these, there shouldn't be any impact to your not having a religious household. However, be sure to look through all the literature on the agency you select before paying any non-refundable fees.

Hi,
I was a little worried about this, because we also don't have a religion, indeed, my husband is always proudly telling people that he was raised an "orthodox atheist". I asked our agency (which is Christian) and was told it didn't matter and that the approval process is conducted using professional social work principles.

We are Atheists and we adopted through a Catholic agency. Under religion we put "none" or NA.
