time frame for Korean adoption
We are investigating countries and agencies and I was wondering if anyone had a general timeline of adoptions from Korea? We would be open to either gender knowing we would probably get a boy, which is fine.
thanks |

HI,
It varies a lot by agency! Alex |

Depending on the agency, the wait for referral can be as short as a few days or as long as 18 months. With Korea you'll need to work with an an agency with a Korea program in your state, so you'll probably only have a few agencies to choose from. I would just call the agencies in your area, and ask about their timeframes.

It really depends on your Korean agency. It will also depend if there is a long waiting list with your American agency. I have seen referrals coming after being HSTK (homestudy sent to Korea) within a few weeks (rare though) to 6-9 months or to 18-21 months. With my agency, our waiting period is one of the longest one.
