Older children from Korea?

Hi! We are looking into adopting from Korea. We are open to adopting a baby, but had originally thought we would adopt a child around age 2. Looks like mostly babies from Korea - has anyone out there been matched with a toddler from Korea?

Hi,
Some toddlers are available. I believe they typically have special needs. I have noticed that US adoption agencies sometimes have incentive grants to encourage such adoptions. We didn't adopt a toddler, so I don't have more specific information.

Mostly babies are available from Korea and any toddlers that might become available are considered "Waiting Children". Many other programs have toddlers more readily available, and wait times are considerably shorter in the programs where both babies and toddlers are available. Search various agencies' programs, and they'll most often tell you the age range of the children availbale.
Good luck!
Amy

Yes, but our little one was on the Special Needs list (he was a preemie). We requested a match with Jack when he was 9 months old in Dec. '07... he will be @ 15 months when we bring him home this spring.
