Korean travel questions
We're still researching our Korean adoption, and are now thinking about the traveling. Our Parents want to join us for the trip to Korea. Has anyone else done this? Also, does anyone know of any good hotels over there? We're dealing with Social Welfare Society (SWS), through Spence Chapin so I guess we'd have to find a hotel around there? I work for an airline so the airfare won't be an issue. Any travel tips would be great!

I think the Renaissance or Marriott is right across from SWS and is quite nice. SWS is located in the business district, though, and there aren't a lot of restaurants or shopping nearby. If you are up for a short subway ride, we stayed at the COEX Intercoinental and LOVED it. It is attached to a mall and the subway so it was very easy to get around. They even had a stroller we could borrow to walk around with Alex since we got him a full day before we left.

We traveled to Korea to pick up our son. We worked with SWS. My mother and aunty went with us. They really enjoyed it and were a big help after we got our son. We stayed at the Best Western Gangnam. It was much more reasonable in price compared to the other suggested hotels. The subway was close by and so was SWS. In fact we walked to SWS from our hotel. There were quite a few restaurants and store around. In fact, there was even a pizza place and McDonald's around the corner. The taxi ride to the shopping places were cheap. We also used the subway system to get around.
Good luck in your journey! Michelle |
