Korean Christmas traditions
Hello everyone.
Does anyone know of any Korean Christmas traditions? We would really like to incorporate Korean culture with our holidays. Thanks in advance!

Good question. I'll need to look this one up, and I'll ask my Korean student. Nolan's foster family's pictures from Christmas involved a big feast, all types of food layed out decoratively, a cake, and Nolan, dressed in angel wings! (so cute) The cake said "Merry Christmas" on it in English, which is why I knew the pictures were of his first Christmas.
I'll let you know what I find out! ![]() Amy

OK--here's what I found out from my student. Since Christmas is not a traditional Korean holiday, it is celebrated in a similar fashion to the United States' celebration. Some people have Christmas Trees, but she doesn't believe that most people honor their ancestors during Christmas, as they might during a taditional Korean holiday. They have a celebratory meal, where the ornate table is adorned with traditional Korean food laid out in a decorative fashion.
She also mentioned that Korean children receive one present, not several. (Much to her annoyance!) That's it! HTH Amy
