Do you believe in signs?

This afternoon I stopped to get a cup of coffee and gas up my car at a local convenience store. When I handed over the cash, I unknowingly had given the cashier a Korean coin instead of a quarter. What's so weird is our son was escorted home, and we have never (knowingly) been in the posession of Korean currency. When it was pointed out to me, I snatched the coin back and replaced it with its American counterpart. It needs to be said that we live in Maine, not exactly a major metropolitan area filled with diversity. I was really shocked!

I am about to do everything related to Korea I can think of. Write to Nolan's escort and foster mom, send another birthmother letter for his file, finally get my library card so I can start my online Korean language classes, read, read, read...

SOOOO...what's the universe trying to tell me? Our baby was born today? He/She will soon be on their way home? Next time, travel to Korea? What do you think?
Amy

I don't know, Amy....Maybe it was a way to tell you that you made the right choice....Let me share this with you....

Back in 2003, we were going through our first adoption. I just got back from taking my fifth graders on a field trip. When I checked my box in the office, I found a SEALED fortune cookie. I looked around....Nobody else got a fortune cookie but me....Hmmmm.....Made me wonder.....Then I opened it up.... It said, "You will win success in everything you adopt." I later found out that the second grade team ordered out for lunch, and someone left that fortune cookie in my box for me. Maybe it was a sign....Maybe it wasn't....But it sure MADE my day!

Cool signs update...
I emailed our son's escort last night to say hello and send some pictures. She was very excited to hear that we are now "officially waiting", and she offered to bring our next baby home to us! We have developed a nice relationship with her and her daughter (who lives in the states) so we would be very comforted if she could bring our child home. She is also in communication with our son's foster mother, and she forwarded his most recent email pictures to her.

I am so excited!!

Cathy, your story was too cool!

My best,
Amy

Smile Wow!

Amy,

Thanks for sharing that story! I believe in signs and if you take time to notice little things I think it is even comforting and exciting if nothing else! I think you should write it all down and maybe later you will see exactly why it happened on that day in time! Thanks for sharing this cool thing that happened!

Paula - in Korea this morning!!!!!

I definitely believe in signs...here's hoping whatever the universe is trying to tell you will be revealed soon.

I have no idea why I didn't think of these things when you first posted this but there are a few more things that happened while we were waiting that could be interpreted as signs, God, or my dearly beloved deceased father & unborn child working on our behalf....

We got our first son's travel call on the eighth anniversary of the day I found out I was pregnant for the first and only time....He traveled on the anniversary of the day we lost the baby.

We got our second son's travel call on the 15th anniversary of my father's death....

So on the anniversaries of our toughest losses, we CELEBRATED with great hope and happiness....We know our family in heaven was looking down on us....and SMILING.

Cathy,
My mom and I are in complete agreement that my son traveled home to our family at the exact right time. He arrived one year after my daughter was born. She died at four days old, and while still grieving her loss, it makes those anniversaries somehow more bearable. I have also lost my dad, and I know he is looking down on us and this little spirit who has brightened our everyday.
Our stories are so similar! Maybe I am destined to have 2 sons too!
Amy
