Hello,
We just received our I797! Our son is one step closer to being home!

I have a question for those of you who's agencies work with SWS. How long after the I797 or I171 did you get the travel call?

We're over the moon and can't wait to hold him!

Hello,

You could look at my timeline. It took exactly 10 days after I receive my I171 to get my travel call. But I do know that it's different with everyone. It could vary because every adoption is different. You should really rely on your agency. My agency told me that it would take 3 months from the day I accepted my referral, and they were right. I don't know how long you have been waiting since your referral. I was also with AIAA/SWS. You must be close though.

Thanks! We were told 3 months from referral, but traveling will knock off a couple of weeks. We are traveling, so we're getting close.

I am so glad to hear that you are traveling. I was not sure if I could travel at first, and was afraid to travel in a foreign country, but half way through my adoption process, I knew that it would be best for us to travel. I do not regret anything. It was the best trip of my life and I will always feel grateful to have the opportunity to go and pick up my baby and visit his foster family.

I really hope that you will get your travel call soon.

We just got back from Korea 3/1 with our son Quinten. We were with SWS in Korea, and our I171 was issued 1/8/07, and our travel call came 2/19/07. Our acceptance papers arrived in Korea 12/1/06, so it was just short of 3 months for us, and we travelled. WE were told 10-14 weeks after acceptance to Korea, and we were on a plane just short of 12 weeks.

We are at 3 weeks and 2 days since our I600( I 171) was cabled to SWS. But really who's counting? Ha ha Our sw said 4 weeks give or take a week for the call. Then into diapers bottles and car seats all over again, it will be awesome. BTW, I am not a good "waiter"

hi,
we are escorting because we have 5 at home already. We escorted our other adopted kids also. I too read the boards to keep from pestering my SW.
Just put the finishing touches on the nursery( which used to be our guest room) Oh well, we must make do!!
